With applications moving to cloud and re-engineered to cloud-native architectures, the opportunity arises to create a modular set of ERP and CRM components that are composed together to replace legacy enteprise platforms that have not been updated for a generation. I worked on ERP and CRM transformation journeys in the context of professional services, financial services and telecom organisations. Driving these projects from a business perspective rather than the IT side dramatically increases the likelihood of success and reduces total cost of ownership for the target solution and overall architecture. M&A can also a be a big driver and provide impetus in delivering Enterprise transformation objectives.
